Icon Bars

At the top of both the directory tree and the file list window, you'll notice nearly identical rows of icons. Many of these icons also appear in the 'File Transfer' area of the iProject. Each of these icons is briefly explained below.

Refresh Refresh - Refreshes the directory tree and file list. Occasionally, Java won't refresh things properly, and clicking this button will refresh the information on the screen. If you've created a directory, deleted a file, moved a file, renamed a directory, or anything else along these lines but haven't seen the effect take place, try clicking the refresh button.
View Thumbnails View Thumbnails - View thumbnail images in the selected directory. Use the generate thumbnails button described below.
Messages Messages - This allows you to open and view the messages that may be associated with the file or directory. For more information on messages, go to the "Messages" section of this manual.
Delete Delete - Deletes a file or directory.
New Folder Create New Folder - Creates a new folder. When you click this icon, you are presented with a window that asks you to enter the name of the folder you'd like to create. Entering the name and clicking 'Create' will place this folder in the directory you have selected in the directory tree. You'll also notice two check boxes below this, asking if you'd like to create different roles for these folders. By default, these should be unchecked, unless you are assigning new roles to these directories.
Map Shared Map a Share - Starts the "Map a Shared Location" wizard. More information about shared locations can be found in the Project Administration section of this manual.
Rename Rename - Allows you to rename a file or directory. You'll be presented with a window asking for the new name, with 'ok' and 'cancel' buttons.
Copy Copy - Copies the selected file or folder. When you paste this file somewhere (see below) it will make a duplicate of this file in that location, and leave this file intact in the place you copied from.Note: this copying is not the same as copying on your operating system, and will not allow you to paste the file to your machine.
Cut Cut - Cuts a file. Much like copy above, only the original will be removed after the operation is complete. Essentially, you can think of "Cut and Paste" as "Move." Note: Cutting a file is not the same as cutting on your operating system, and will not allow you to paste the file to your machine.
Paste Paste - Pastes a file. Once you have cut or copied a file as above, you may choose a destination to place this file and push this button. the file will either be copied or "moved" to this location.
Up One Level Up One Level - Clicking this will display the files and folders in the directory one "level" up in the tree.
View Internal View in iProject - Views the currently selected file inside the iProject. Use this top open files in the iProject's built-in viewers.
View Browser View in Browser - Views the currently selected file in your browser window. This is essentially the same as double-clicking a file that would normally open in a browser window (such as an excel spreadsheet or an image file.)
Description and Status Description and Status - Use this to view and edit the file description and status. For more information on this, go to the "File Descriptions" section of this manual.
Generate Thumbnails Generate Thumbnails - This button is used to generate thumbnails. After the thumbnail generation is finished, used the "View Thumbnails" button described above to open a thumbnail viewer window in the iProject. See the "Generating and Viewing Thumbnails" section for more details on how to use thumbnails.
Copy Path Copy Path to Clipboard - This copies the path of the folder you have open to your operating system's clipboard.
Task view Switch to Task View - When in the "Folder View", clicking this button will switch you over to the "Task View."
Folder View Switch to Folder View - Clicking this button while in the "Task View" will return you to the "Folder View."
Select a Project Select a Project - Takes you to the project selection screen so you can choose another project.
Logout Logout - Logs you out of the iProject.

When an icon is grayed out, that means the option is not selectable. In addition location described above, many of these icons can be found by right-clicking on a file or folder in the iExplorer. You can also find these icons under the "Files" menu at the top of the iProject window.
