On the bottom left hand corner of the iProject, there are four tabs. Selecting the 'Search' tab will bring you to the search window. The search window works much like search features in other programs and applications. On the left you'll notice a row of check boxes, a text box, and a search button. The check boxes allow you to choose where you'd like to search. You may search through Companies, Directory Names, File Names, Message Topics, Messages, Usernames, and Roles. Each box you check will ensure that your search criteria is used in that area during the search. The 'Keywords' text box is where you'll enter your keywords or search criteria. In the example below, we're going to do a search for files with "las" in it's name. When we're ready to search, we click the 'Search' button.
As you can see in the example below, once we've clicked 'Search', we're given a list of results on the right. The first column tells you what type of result it's found. (Company, Directory, File, etc.) The second column lists the name of the result. In this case, the search engine is displaying the names of files it's found with "las" in the name. The last column is strength, which is a number based on percentage of how much of your search criteria has been found. In this case everything is 100, because each of the files has the full search criteria of "las" included in the file name.

Below we've done a new search. Our criteria is "las jpg" and we're checking in directories, files, message topics, and messages. You'll notice that most of the results have come back with a strength of 50, rather than 100. This is because the results in mot cases only contain 50% of the search criteria. The "IVF_las.jpg" file contains 100% of the search criteria so gets a strength of 100. You'll also notice that we've found some directories with "las" in the name, and a couple notes with one half of the criteria or the other.
Clicking on one of the items hihghlights the item. This also populates the bottom text box on the screen, labeled "Item Text." This box shows you two names, which are usually (but not always) the same. The first name is the display name. This name is what iProject displays when you're using it. The second name is the file system name, which is the actual name of the file on the system. The reason these can be different, is because the iProject allows you to use commas, question marks, quotations, and start file names with numbers. Not all operating systems allow you to do this, so the iProject keeps track of both names for you, and makes a "clean" version of the name for the file system.

Once you've chosen the file or directory that you may have been looking for, the search allows you to jump to it in the iExplorer window. In the example below, we've selected the IVF_las.jpg file. Once selected, we can either push the 'Display' button at the bottom of the window, or we can simply double-click the file name. This will take us back to the iExplorer window, automatically opening the directory the file is contained in, and highlighting the file we were looking for.

If at any point you'd like to continue your search where you left off, possibly narrowing the result, you may click the Search tab again and your last search results and criteria will still be there.
